Very few 3nm/1nm calls were made by RPT/IFR aircraft
Must have been a desk job bound person who came up with these idiotic calls. 1nm equates to 300', and if an a/c on the ground cant see him by then well he is never going to!
Besides, shouldn't we be concentrating on flying the aeroplane at this stage??
If only pilots used common sense ... which isn't so common
I think it is all about airmanship, which again seems to be in short supply
