Good post. I've got some good friends at PB and it's good to see they're being shown a bit of respect!
With regard to making accurate posts, I thought I might add my two cents worth.
JC now have a third year increment for the retention bonus: extra $3750
average hours across the company - 72hrs, ( captains )
so, 7hr O/T = extra $1050/month, multiplied by 12 = extra $12600
4% ZQN allowance that all JC capts now automatically receive after 12 months, rated or not. extra $4524
Base salary to increase 3.5% OCT 2009
3.5% OCT 2010
So, ignoring the annual increases, to my mind JC better off by: $20,874
I have also been very conservative with incentive pay, you could easily add another $5000 to those figures, depending on staff levels.
( historically the reverse has not happened )
Note: JC started receiving matched 4% kiwisaver 6 months ahead of PB
Total $3023 for this financial year
Of course I am quoting JC figures only and there may be numerous additions to the PB contract, that I am unaware of.
