Re Flying on an ACJ:-there is only 2 Companies that currently operate ACJs in Europe. They mainly recruite Airbus rated guys, that is obviously a cost driven decision. It could be any AB rating (320/330/340) as long as you have a valid &current JAR Licence. These guys will mostly come from Airlines. Ideally you would now mix these guys with Corporate Aviation experienced guys that have been flying biz Aircraft within the company for a while. Thus both will profit from each other. One will learn how to operate a "big "Aircraft in a line-style"manner whereas the other will learn the bits and pieces that make biz Aviation differerent from Airlines.
The A318 Elite has a Range Problem (3000NM) so you are not talking long-range,( check a GlobalXpress!!) but ideally Europe-Middle East (where most of the customers actually are). In an A319 you can reach up to 6000NM depending of how many ACT (Aux Center Tanks) you are carrying. The long-haulers are still the Gulfstreams and the Globals. Hope that gives you an idea. puh
