The minimum legal salary for a full-time Gr3 instructor is $33,148 pa.

...as of 01 Oct 08. How the hell you can live on that is beyond me. ""

Its called 2 minute noodles mate lol.

Its funny how the world goes round isnt it.
When you learned to fly, most off students think they pay to much for the plane plus instructor, now the shoe is on the other foot the poor student doesn't seem to pay enough to the instructor.

If 33k is the min wages and you can't make hands meet, just lay off on the booze a bit.
there are plenty off people who will make 33k for the rest off there working life, at least for you guys there is some light at the horizon when you move on from you job, to something bigger and better.

If you really need some advise on how to life off 33k a year than ask you kiwi mates in kiwi land who make a LOT less than than that flying planes.

And if you are not happy with your wages is there any change you go up north and do charterwork??

Have your accomodation payed for, or half off it. Do lots off flying, some places don't have pubs so you can't get to carried away drinking and safe money.
A bloke who worked for the same mob as i did, was based in a comunity. he saved enough money in 1 year (that included a job cleaning the school in the off time when he wasn't flying) to pay for his MEIR.

good luck
