Hello,
This is an open request to anyone that can advise.
Can anyone send me a map of the FIR boundaries in the region of Cyprus-Israel-Egypt and if possible would also appreciate a route planning map of the same region........I appear to be unable to obtain from Cairo ATC....or where I can obtain this information on the internet?
I have been trying to ask the situation regarding West Bank and Gaza.....as everyone knows in regard to Gaza....they have a brand new international airport that was totally destroyed by the Israeli Military when they pulled out of Gaza.......the Israeli said unpon leaving that they would have nothing to do with Gaza anymore and yet they said that they would still control the sea aproach to Gaza and that they certainly would control the entire airspace over both locations.......they were condemned by ICAO an yet to this day they still maintain this embargo in and around the airspace.
Can anyone from the region explain to me exactly what the situation is...can anyone flight plan into Gaza say with a helicopter or will they be shot out of the sky......do anyone have an opinion on this situation because Gaza is now like a human prison and is now cut off from the rest of the world....I am looking at this from the humanitarian point of few.
Can anyone tell me exactly what are the FIR's in the area....can one for instance fly from Larnaca to Gaza airport....ie remain in Cyprus FIR and then adjacent to the Gaza coast fly directly into Gaza....one would assume that if the Israeli's have left Gaza to self rule then the airspace belongs to Gaza.....on the otherhand if the aircraft leaves Cyprus FIR and transit via Cairo FIR will they allow the aircraft to fly over the border into Gaza as I believe Cairo FIR covers Gaza........
Would appreciate any thoughts or comments especially from our Egyptian friends as to how they view Gaza?
Kind Regards
