There was rumor at one stage they were looking at an Auckland Hub. However, when the UAE consortium failed to get a piece of Auckland airport that strategy appears to have changed somewhat.......I would not be surprised to see Emirates flying from Aus to the US as they are marketing themselves heavily as a global airline not just a nation based one....Interesting to see they were the main sponsor of the Melbourne cup too....
