Cairo volmet was a surprise to me, i've been flying all over egypt for quite some time now and i came across it by accident when i was trying to tune in to Cairo ATIS on 122.6

The only airport with ATIS in Egypt is Cairo Int'l. Other than that it's either ATC or EgyptAir's Operations frequency which is only available to EgyptAir flights.

It's really great, always updated, and very clear voice with a resonable pace.

But the thing is only few know about it, it's not well publicized... even ATC, when a flight requests fresh weather for their destination within Cairo FIR they willingly transmit it on the active frequency rather than advising aircrafts to just tune in to Cairo volmet.

As for you question Jhon, if you have a subscription to Jeppesen - Transforming the Way the World Moves you will find it very useful. Also there is a very useful tool that came in handy many times, just send an sms to +454 060 6361 with the four letter identifier of any airport and they will sms you back with with the TAF and METAR.

Regards,
