Without knowing the facts, blowing a tyre is not necessarily a case for a fuel dump and return. I am sure the crew evaluated the need for a return vs. continue and came up with the best option. Advise from maintenance watch is simply that....advise. The PIC makes the decision based on all the information presented to him/her at the time. Have a little faith in the fact that it was the CREW that decided to continue and that they are professionals and decided on the appropriate course of action.
