When I was flying the A-300 B4-200, the "B4" designator had to do with the addition of the center fuel tank. The B-2, version was a short range plane with no center tank. So, All the A-300's that have a center tank are classified as a B-4. A-300 B4-100, A-300 B-4 -200, A-300 B4 -600. The -100's had Pratt & Whitney engines, The -200 had G.E.'s, and the -600 have the new two man cockpit, new avionics, gee whiz stuff and i have no idea what kind of powerpalnts they have, but it is indeed a different type rating. Also, the -600 had the weight saving program, new wing, all kinds of cool stuff. The first 250 A-300's had the Flight Engineer, the rest have computers!
