I was referring to VFR sorry i didnt specify. untill below 1500ft or below 5km Vis a SVFR clearance is not required. everyone fly's around clipping the base of clouds in class C VFR and yes that is common sense or other wise there would never be any VFR flying in this country(due crap wx). but my question is it technically legal because no where in irish law that i can find does it state you must request SVFR if you cant maintain 1000ft below the cloud base when inside class C. irish law states clear of cloud and in sight of the surface when below 3000ft in class G not Class C. i posted this question in the ATC section in the hope i would get a definitive answer to this from ye guys. it is reasonable question which must have a legal answer somwhere!
