That's incredibly perceptive of you. Yeah, of course Jetblue claimed to have done a deal with Jetscape for four aircraft to be leased to Azul, made a filing (as a public company) with the Securities and Exchange Commission to that effect, and talked to the press (e.g. this
Flight story), and Azul (David Neeleman)) told the same story to the press... but you could see it was all lies - it was just cover for a secret BACF order for four E190s!
(Nothing personal, but there's just no need for any conspiracy theory - if BA or any other big carrier wanted to source E190s they could do so without two other airlines having to perjure themselves, believe me...)
