Good point, that's what we teach the students
- Maintain aircraft control
- Obtain safe altitude
- Analyse situation
- Take appropriate action
- Land as soon as needed
Do not jump to conclusions and use all the crew resources, so let your copilot give his opinion. Communicate, it might stop you from jumping to the wrong conclusion.
