that said, just in case nobody has told you yet, unless things change in the forthcoming EBA, you'll train on about $35K for 12 months (if you're lucky and not asked to do a fill-in job until they can slot you on a course) more field training on $53K (about 6 months) and then if you a good little soldier and jump through all the hoops, it will take you 13 years to get to the top increment of $135K.
these days, there are better paying jobs in lots of places (especially out west in the mines) so you'd better have an interest in aviation to keep you going.
and actually seperating airplanes and keeping things safe is very rewarding on an intrinsic level.
