I gather that the pilots' seat is a customer option. Sounds like you should be blaming your company for buying the cheapest.
Donīt think so. I have flown many a 757/767 originating from different fleets. Basic difference: electrical or manual moving. Newer acft (and I guess the 777) have a different material in the padding but still the same seats.
However I stand to be corrected.
