Well therein lies a problem, nephew bought this puter about six years ago and I remember him having problems with some worm virus,he very shortly thereafter bought a laptop so the machine has been more or less been sitting next door unused since then, I've pottered about with it a few times on and off and it seems ok to me, however he has given the puter to his Dad who is shortly to get broadband so I thought perhaps the best thing would be to renew the disk and operating system altogether,so I am reluctant to using anything from the exsisting hard disk
I've always built my own puters so I've never had this trouble,ie one has always had the driver disks for the kit I put it em,this being store bought off the shelf lit they don't supply the driver disks of course, they prefer the punters to return em to the shop for maintainance and charge the bugga's.
I did do a google search but as the sound chip seems to be anonymouse I could find buggah all.
Thanks for the help chaps
