EI was severely delayed out of DUB yesterday evening. They cancelled EI186 (the 21:15 departure), and yes, diverted all others to LTN. LGW would probably have been more ideal (for connections), but it's further away than LTN. Pax were given the choice to either stay overnight in DUB and be rebooked into the two early flights, or take their chances with LTN.

Granted, the crew on EI184 were as professional as they could be. EI did their best to arrange for coaches to take pax back to LHR, but there was NO coordination once at LTN. The pax were milling around outside and none of the airport staff were able to help. One pax who went to each coach hanging about asking which one was the EI coach managed to get some sense into the others. That coach made it to LHR by 1:50am. The other two coaches arrived shortly after, but I have no idea how many people either caught taxis (at 80 quid a taxi) or simply caught the bus to LTN Parkway for a train into the city. The same went for the pax on the 724 from Cork.

According to one SLF, EI 186 is routinely cancelled on a Sunday night because either the a/c is late into DUB (and can't make it to LHR in time for the curfew) or because of some other reason.
