Geordiejet, If you knew anything at all you would know the 145 actually has a lower fuel burn than the Q400!
Dont believe me? If you really are a pilot get Q4 and 145 backup/still air airplans for say MAN-GLA and BHX-MXP and compare the difference! On the GLA sector Q4 burns slightly more than 145 and slightly slower. So fair enough with about 55+ seats filled its going to make more! Compare the MXP route where your talking significantly longer flight time, and getting on for double the fuel burn so even if a Q4 was full it is never going to be as profitable as a 145!
Have a look! If your going to call 145 a gas guzzler wheres your evidence? Try not to make up the facts to suit yourself! I still dont understand why they are so keen to get rid of the 145, pax prefer it, and its more reliable. why not use the Q4 for what its good at and 145 for its areas of profitability!
Another good comparison is STR which is going on the Q4. Thats gonna be long haul on the paddle steamer! On the bright side much more pleasant than Ryanair and will arrive in a City that shares the airports name
