If such a service goes ahead then it will be to Newark - CO's NYC hub. Most of you will remember that American had originally planned a NCL to JFK service but this was aborted.
On the positive side, CO provide more connectional opportunities at EWR than American do at JFK so are more likely to make the route a success. On the downside, economic conditions ( which forced AA to abandon their plans, if I'm not mistaken) have worsened and I understand that CO are about to announce route cutbacks.
