The company are ensuring they get their pound of flesh by flying you at max hours - being 75/month (900/year).
This is more often 10 months @ 90 per month when you consider there is nearly 8 weeks, or more, down time per year with rec/sick leave, sims (which do not count towards the 900 total) and the odd ground school (CRM and EPC). A while ago one or two people who were on nearly max hours copped a lot of sim support to help them fill in their time.
