Disagree just a tad, no offense intended.
I guess it depends on what you consider the scope of our job is.

To me we are safety and service professionals. Who I believe should be physically able to carry out all emergency procedures plus being able to walk down the aisle without hitting the pax. I also believe we should look well groomed and if at all possible, just a tiny little bit glam.

If I could decide, both anorectic and obese colleagues would be grounded and coached to make healthier life-style choices. Thereby helping them to return to being fit for flight and fit to look at.

and please note, I did NOT say we need to be beautiful! I said well groomed & fit enough for both cabin and safety duties.
