BA certainly do seem to cancel a lot of these late night EDI- LHR flights. Happened to me once and I’ve seen many a queue at the BA ticket desks in the terminal.
I don’t think GSM would cancel flights just because, nor would EZY for that matter. I however have been on the receiving end of an EZY cancellation and it wasn’t a pleasant experience - I’m sure you’ll have seen an episode of airline? Still, that’s low cost aviation for you – guess I should have flown with a proper carrier! "justified by circumstances beyond our control or for reasons of safety" is very non-specific and covers just about any eventuality!

That statement should be printed and stuck to a wall in every room within the company – I like it!
