Alas, poor Harry the fish. Jealousy can be such an ugly emotion.
We have several AA guys researching the Middle East and occasionally one will go to EK. One of our ex737 Capt's is in training there now. Adjusted for the UAE's inflation , those AED's don't go quite as far as they should, I'm told. I'm sure it's a good company and all, just not the ideal situation for everyone.
I'd like to leave the AA job better than I found it , but that is a little beyond my control. I was hired on the B-scale in 1985 which was originally "half pay, forever" . We (APA) fought some good rounds and won a couple, but got clobbered in 2003. The sorry state of the airline today sickens most employees . Management is raping the company for millions in bonuses each Spring. Maintenance is becoming critically underfunded.
I'm not here to brag about a "shed-load "of money , but it is good for all of us to know there are other opportunites and alternatives.
P.S. Harry....you must learn the difference between knobs and switches.
