Duxford is indeed a most splendiferous place. I did quite a bit of my circuit bashing there and it was the start and finish point for my QXC (after which my instructor flew us back to base with 8 consecutive aileron rolls and 2 barrel rolls en route).

Dux v easy to find cos of huge hangars and proximity to BKY, M11 and other features. No dead side, cos of nearby Fowlmere (another place worth a visit), and circuits (which may quite often be shared with Tiger Moth, Dragon Rapide, Blenheim, Mark XIV Spit or whatever) always to south of the field, whichever rwy in use. They usually like you to join downwind, but straight in approaches may be possible. Helpful, pleasant and competent AFISOs in the tower. You can fly a nice tight circuit. Noise abatement to the south and east is common sense: avoid settlements and chemical works. Bird sanctuaries to north.

NB the hard rwy and the parallel grass strip are together one rwy, so if landing on the hard, usual procedure (subject to what the AFISO says about ground movements, of course) is to vacate hard and cross grass at 90 degrees , so you don't call vacated till off the grass strip.
