They frequently use both runways for landing around 7am and parallel landings have been used, under certain weather conditions, during delays for many, many years. I wrote a magazine article about the procedures back in the early 60s so the idea has been around a helluva long time.

The full-time Mixed-Mode operation, with both runways being used all the time for landings and take-offs is, I feel, some way off. The airport is very small compared to other major airports and, as intimated above, the ground control problems would be immense. It also requires more radar controllers to function properly and those people are as rare as hens teeth.
