Willie's next trick is to shut the LGW operation, make a fast buck on the slots and utilise the 777's else where. As for the 737 fleet.....once LGW is gone...no need for replacing them..thus saving more money to fill the hole in the pension fund and debt!!.
Worth mentioning that there's no room at LHR for the rest of the B777s at LGW and that they are adding LGW-JFK from the winter. As for not replacing the B737s, well that'll be the A319s being displaced by new aircraft at LHR then.
BA Gatwick may not be at the front of the queue for capital investment but there's not enough room at Heathrow for er...... the LHR operation without trying to shoehorn LGW in there as well !
