It then takes around 30 mins for the paper work to be filled in, your photo taken and your badge to be issued
Depends on your airport - LHR was running 2-3 hours in the q when I was there recently. May have improved now T5 is open but take a book, or a PSP.
Oh and that is WITH an appointment - so appointment 10AM turn up on time get seen about 1245
