I got the bug at 13 yr's 9 months (to the day) with my first ATC Chippie flight. Became an AEF staff cadet and ended up with about forty hours dual.
Then I joined the UAS and completed the syllabus getting another 122hrs under my belt.
A fantastic career beckoned but unfortunately the eyes weren't good enough.
That was five years ago and having blown my degree (see 122hrs above!) I finally earn enough to start flying again.
I'm about to sit the written exams and apparently because of the hours I have I only have to do the X-country nav and handling test (Yes I know I need to get my hand back in first) so I should be airbourne again very soon.
Hurrah.
