First lesson was a trial flight for my birthday (March 17th 98)... and was probably the worst money my (ex!) husband ever spent! Got my licence August '98, and now have around 150hrs with IMC and Night ratings. Would love to get a commercial licence and (initially) instruct... but unfortunately can't afford it at the moment
... so for the time being will have to make do with just reading the ATPL study books, and WISHING! But I'm damn well going to find the money SOMEHOW!!!
But I'm totally obsessed with flying and will try anything once (mountain flying, seaplanes, gliding, aeros, and a couple of lessons in an R22 to date). And I'm off to Macon next weekend, on my first continental trip!
BTW... thanks to all you great Maersk and Monarch guys who've taken me on jumpseat rides... and just made my obsession with commercial flying even worse!!!
