Coodem, don't worry about it mate, everyone feels like that. Just remember when you have finished your IR you will be at your peak of ability for instrument flying, then it is all down hill from there

Had a funny experience the other day, flying out of Amsterdam from 36C. There is no SID from that particlar runway. ATC asked us to climb straight ahead and intercept the 316R outbound from SPL, and the Captain said to me 'how the **** are we going to do that?'. I laughed and said, 'I guess we will have to use this VOR rose thing?'.
