The correct answer would be .47 Rubble for the remainder if using two decimals

Any smart way of attacking this problem? If using paper only you have to be carefull how you deal with the problem especially if you have to find a remainder.

If you just go 1.5:1.15 and calculate that before you proceed with multiplying by 15000, you would need quite a bit of decimals before getting the correct remainder. Instead use (15000*1.5)/1.15 which makes sure the remainder is going to be close enough. Keeping the remainder as a fraction before proceeding will make sure you get the correct number down to whatever decimal you like ie. 25:115 = 5:23 - this you then have to multiply by 2.15 (which transferred to fraction is 43:20) so (5:23)*(43:20) = (215:460)= (43:92) = 0.47

Or you could keep everything in fractions if the numbers are easily transferred like in the example:
1.15 Iranian Dinars = 23:20
1.5 British Pounds = 3:2
2.15 Russian Rubbles = 43:20
Then (3:2) : (23:20) = (60:46)=(30:23)
Then 15000*30:23 = 19565 with a remainder of 5:23
Then (5:23)*(43:20) = (215:460)= (43:92) = 0.47
