This should be no issue at all - not even in France:
1st. Is your JAA-ATPL(frozen) still valid?
This might be the issue.
If yes - no problem at all because the type rating needs not be entered. JAA only states hour requirements but not under which license these have been acquired.
Basically the requirements are laid down in:
JAR-FCL 1 (FCL = Flight Crew Licensing)
JAR-FCL 1 1.280 - no requirement for the hours to be flown under JAR.
You may have to take the skill test for the ATPL validation on a JAR-25 aircraft under JAR-FCL rules. This may be the problem.
Try to talk to your CAA directly. Try to get through to one of the competent licensing inspectors. It would amaze me if this is a problem. Else send me a PM (may take a while for answer - but you will get one)
