Avgas old pal,
You may be right about the Guppy not being given a US registration in the future, but she certainly had one in the past.
When I flew the old girl she had N447T on the side.
Sad to see the way this is going, but the 44 was dangerous at the best of times. The expertise to maintain it, and people with the skill to operate it safely, let alone reliably have largely gone, and that would make flying this thing again one heck of a challenge.
The 44 was the most demanding aeroplane I ever flew, and made any other contemporary airliner a mere walk in the park. By comparison, today's fabulous modern airliners are for kids!
Tread carefully with this one, and good luck to all.
BSD.
