Guys think we shud get a B707 op going? Just done my B707/720 type tech .......Bit late by 40 years but........just need circuits now! Anyone want a 707 newbie? but with 727 command experience.
Well, some time ago, I was a B707 TRE/IRE and still have the manuals (the best ones, PanAmerican and original Boeing) and if a cheaper source of fuel could be found (the fan-powered 707 consumes 12,000 pounds/hr), it is certainly possible.
Noise would be a slight problem however, as Burbank Aeronautical has closed their doors so their stage 3 hush-kit is no longer available....so Africa here we come.
And why not, I ask.
The 707 was a fine reliable 'ole airplane, that in many cases demanded well developed flying skills to keep the blue side up....not like the wonderbusses of today where button-pushing has become the fashion.
