I used basair when i went to oz and they were very good you will need about a day to get the validation what with the paper work and a check ride.

Aircraft hire is cheap about three years back a TB20 cost about £65 /hr and if you go touring as we did for two people it works out slightly cheaper that airline flights.

Oz is a great place to fly but it is BIG and empty so give SAR more than a passing moment in the flight planing and be ready for some long flights ,the longest we did was Townsville to brisbane and that was just over 5 hours with very little in the way of human habitation north of rockhampton.

Finaly you must fly the willamtown inland low level route, a real blast if you like low flying and it,s leagal !
