I believe it was a split duty flight from Taipei. Hence the out of hours situation. Can't remember when the only alternate out of Taipei for Hkg has been anyplace other than Macau , back to Taipei or down to Manila.
If I am missing something here please enlighten me. If the wx in Macau was not great return fuel should have been carried.
But then I'm just a plane spotter from Mongkok.
