That's nice. If it's a CASA Ipod, watch out! It comes preset to function spasmodically between 9 and 5 with lunchtimes, weekends, employee birthdays, December and public holidays off. It then only works after you select "yes" to having read and accepted the terms of the disclaimer. There is NO manual On/Off control. Operating instructions are impossible to follow and confusing updates to the instructions arrive monthly. The operating system has been updated many times with add-ons, but the original software was never written for modern digital music and audio applications. The music comes pre-loaded and is straight off the hit parade from CASA's/CAA's/DCA's heyday in the 1960's.

Music choice is pre-determined by CASA committee with industry consultation. If you want something different (ie, modern, up-to-date music), you first have to organise a selection committee and you can't make any changes without three letters of intent to the manufacturer and CASA, an exhaustive safety case and two bank cheques for $250 (in case the first one gets lost) to ensure CASA certification. Regardless, new music can only be supplied by CASA (it's in the fine print) and you first need a different safety case and committee recommendation to petition CASA to upgrade its available selection and certify the transfer process by a Licensed Aircraft Music Engineer.

If all that sounds like a hassle, don't worry...you will be advised to purchase an upgrade in six months that will have a different name, an 'improved' skin, a new set of instructions and operating procedures. The operating system will remain the same and any non-preinstalled music you loaded in the past will be automatically erased to prevent conflict with the new add-ons.
