Base in a liveable city, Perth or Brisbane. Possibly Adelaide, Sydney only if the dollars were enough to cover the increased costs of living there.
I think you need to reassess your definition of a liveable city. Perth is great, however the costs are skyrocketing. Perth was only pipped by Sydney in house costs a few months ago by around $20-30,000.
