i am well aware of instructing in the US as well as flying for the regionals. in regards to salary for cfi's and FO in the regionlas..you are better off at McDonalds..and thats the truth.. as you both know flight instructing in the US (for most of us) is and was a way to built up time for the regionlas.
for less than 1000 hours mesa, pinnacle, express jet are a few examples. they hire less at 700 hrs at about an average of $2000.00 per month including per diems. take home is about $600-$700 net per month and depending where you llive..well the expenses will pretty much force you to get a part time job.
if you ask around flying US regionals are not the best conditions..its all about building time. even captains at these regionals dont like it and cant wait to leave (not all)..but regionals will give you lots of jets experience. your preference. in fact mesa is probly the worst regionals to work for. and the upgrade time???!!! well if you survive any furlough!!!
so.. PAL or CEBU PAC versus the regionals...hmmmm Its definately more interesting to fly in the PI. the culture..its the same at the regionals. you will have some good ones and some bad ones. the pay..hmmm If you dont have any Us debt then the pay in comparison to living expenses in the PI will almost equal out to what you will get at the regionals. it will be like college again..budgeting your beer money versus your food money.
toot and jolliebee..the culture in the PI sure is different but its workable. this is the place where patience is truly a virtue. go for it. bring in what you have learned from flight training in the states..take in and learn from senior pilots in the PI and take advantage from both............
