NATS have been quite active in recent months with ATCOs making visits to flying clubs, particularly around the London TMA, giving presentations and briefings on airspace issues and associated problems. The idea being that by giving such briefings we can hopefully cut down on the number of zone infringements and the ultimate disruption/mayhem that ensues. Farnborough have recently taken the well publicised step of extending LARS service around the London TMA. Whilst providing a valuable service to GA traffic, it also assists in preventing such zone infringements.
Most NATS units are more than happy to arrange such visits (although some are limited/not possible due to security issues, being airside). Approaches for visits are usually welcomed and best if made by a group, directly to the unit concerned.
