Give me a break, as if it means anything these days.
You're right - HSC does mean bugger all these days. Consequently, someone who has not completed this elementary level of study
may not be a suitable employee???
Or perhaps if someone did really want the job, they may have allocated some of the years it takes to become qualified for airline employment to complete one of the elementary bridging courses, rather than bitching about the fact that they shouldn't need to (despite the fact that basic maths, physics and english are used constantly in this profession).
Just one perspective - whether a sixth grader would understand I don't know.
