Late Lander

Before handover to Dublin flt was told by Shannon to contact company.
Subsequently on handover flt was cleared dct to the centre fix and given
descent clearance. Only at a very late stage was flt told by Dublin that
airport was closed.( Flt was aware of NOTAM and ANM).
After being so informed by Dublin there were further discussions on company radio and further telephone discussions between company and
Dublin ATC. Meanwhile flt was holding. When telephone discussions proved
fruitless flt was so informed by company and preferred alternate Cork
nominated. Flt then requested diversion to Cork. After a few seconds
delay flt was told " err we'll take you in - your the only flt around".

Thank you. 200 pax/crew plus meeters and greeters were saved a lot
of inconvenience.

Why did GCRR release flt if FLS issued? What have CFMU to say?
Why was flt cleared to CF and to descend when you "knew" landing
before closing time was impossible?

Good luck in your talks but try to keep your (green) customers on side.
