Sorry to cast a negative note but given how wonderful Scottish Info is and the fact we don't pay for it, I wonder how long it will continue? I've always been slightly nervous that it seems like a service from a different era - pleasant, chatty, helpful and FREE! You even get good jokes on 119.875.
I can't see that (even with the new 7401 squawk) it gives NATS much benefit in terms of stopping/identifying infringements, and in the areas where that might be an issue I can see NATS saying that Glasgow, Edinburgh and Prestwick should be expected to provide a FIS to local transit traffic.
My favourite is when I'm coming back on a long trip from the south, contact Sc Info somewhere over Cumbria/Northumberland, then after a while they tell me they're about to go home but they've passed my details to base and suggest I contact them, and have a good flight. Gives you a real warm feeling. Long may they continue!
