Thanks to all at Scottish Info - the voice on the end of the radio is quite reassuring over the cold Irish Sea.

All the best for the New Year!

About 4 or 5 times a year G-OBAL proceeds Luton to Dundee and back with me driving and it is always nice to cross that border about 30 ls N of Newcastle. Happy New Year, and..... until we meet again, sometime in the New Year!

I was with RudeNot2 when it was "Good to hear the welcoming voices on Christmas day."

Seasons greetings to all at Scottish, and thanks from this student for all your help in the last year, especially during my solo cross country expeditions. The friendly voice over the ether is very reassuring.

Happy new year when it comes, speak to you next time i am up.

And you are all getting a special discrete squawk code from Scottish Info as an Xmas pressie

Well done to FISBang and the lads for another excellent year of service.

Cool

Fishbangwollop, thank you very much for your lovely message. And a good New Year to you and your colleagues too, when it comes along.

I've spoken to you a few times over the summer on my way from Oban to Coll, Colonsay and Bute. On the day going over to Bute, there was a female pilot on her way to Fife from the West coast, who kept butting in on other folks' transmissions, who didn't seem to have a clue as to the terminology, and who generally made me cringe with embarrassment! But whoever it was at Scottish Info was so patient and courteous with her, it was really refreshing!

Thanks very much for your friendliness over the airwaves.

Out of curiousity - might be a silly question - is it ever possible to get a tour of Scottish Info? I'd love to see it from your perspective.

All the best,

HM

machel and to others.....thanks for the kind words, its nice to know we are providing a service that is appreciated and is of use. As for people coming on the frequency and making a mess of things no problem...unlike most of the other sectors at Scottish, 119.875mhz is manned by Area "FISO's" and the FIR is their only task, therefore I guess we have a little more time and understanding when it comes to Ab Initio's stumbling their words.....The other sectors at Scottish that also provide FIR service's i.e. 127.275mhz also have a busy Radar task to perform and therefore may not be as relaxed and understanding!! As for butting in on other folks, thats not always the fault of the pilots, the reason being we monitor transmitter sights both in the north and south of Scotland and therefore we may hear all transmissions the aircraft at 1000ft over Dumfries will never hear the other aircraft at 1000ft over Inverness! As for a visit to the centre never a problem, just send me a PM and I will arrange. Thanks again to you all.
P.
