At present the ERP is based on the AED being at 4.60 to the EURO. Today’s mid market rate is 5.36 to the EURO. That’s 76 fils or a 16.5% depreciation. Your ERP is based on half your basic (10420) x 16.5% which is AED 1719.30.
So total GROSS is AED20840 + AED2730 (for 78 hours of flying) + AED1719.30= AED25289.30. Think you get about AED 100 for telephone on top.
Now I know that there are deductions...expect to pay for Medical insurance and Pilots Club fees a total of between AED200 to perhaps AED 600 depends on if you are single/married/married with kids/married with lots of kids.
Then you can expect to pay the Provident fund approx AED 1042. (This is still your money though if you stay the required amount of years)
The last and most embarrassing thing that almost all EK pilots do not include is the very poor layover meal allowance rates. Expect to get anywhere between AED 200 to over AED 3000 a month depending on the trips that you do. This is paid in cash at the station and is quite difficult to be counted towards your total package as one never really know what one is getting each month without some bit of work. Remember that in a lot of bigger airlines with good layover rates, this is sometimes banked into the pilots paycheck at the end of the month giving him a better picture of his 'total paycheck'...meal allowances included.
So that’s how I figured you could expect to have approximately AED25000 on average in hand at the end of the month (how you spend it down route is not the discussion) if you were a new joiner with your home currency based on the EURO. The key word here is average…some months you would rake it in with the overtime and other months when you are on leave, you would only be getting your basic and a little more for flying allowance.
