Tool companies that offer lifetime guarantees (Such as Snap-on, Facom, etc,) are run by franchisees and will try to get out of any replacements or repairs that might cost them money or inconvenience!
I needed to get a screwdriver fixed and was asked for a receipt. After a long discussion
I was told that guarantees are not transferable, so proof of purchase was needed.
These companys make great tools, but keep the receipts
