Currently doing this degree with Barry college but its through university of Glamorgan. been in industry 30 years but only have licence 2 years due to being a workshops man for a long time. I would have to say that anyone working in this fickle industry must obtain a licence first and foremost, the degree is in my opinion is a personal goal for those of us that went from school to an apprenticeship as most employers are only interested in licence and type ratings unless you are going office bound in whatever guise that entails. Make no mistake, your B1/B2 ticket is what makes you eminently employable and not letters after your name.
