In addition, the Squadron is planning a ‘Friends of XXV(Fighter) Squadron Day.’ This will be held on 29 March 08, and will commence at 0930 and finish at 1500hrs. ‘Friends of XXV(Fighter) Squadron Day’ is a closed event. This means we are inviting ‘guests’ to join us at RAF Leeming. The number of visitors will be limited to 1000, and you will have a unique opportunity to celebrate the history of this famous Fighter Squadron, meet our people and to view a number of static displays of visiting aircraft. On arrival you will each receive a programme outlining the displays and also a unique book detailing the history and operational role of the Squadron.

As this is a closed event, we are not allowed to charge for admission. However, these events are expensive to run, and we also aim to raise money for Service charities – Help for Heroes and the Service Institute Fund. We are therefore asking all visitors to make a voluntary contribution of £30 per person to help to cover the cost of the XXV(Fighter) Squadron disbandment events and to allow us to make a sizeable donation to our charities; details of the Help for Heroes charity can be viewed on their website at www.helpforheroes.org.uk.
