The worst landing I ever did was at Francistown, Botswana back in the 1960's. The only member of the crew who had ever been there before was the loadmaster.
All we had was a latitude and longitude and the length and direction of the runway (ATC had gone hunting for the weekend).
I remember thinking that the runway looked longer than we had been led to believe when we hit it - hard - on all three legs! Nobody had told us that it was only 18 metres wide!!!!
