Any chance on Ryanair for me? Ever?
Maybe someone could give some insights and perspectives on this subject for me… I’ve just came out from the Ryanair website and found out that I don’t meet any of their requirements (except the fluent English part) to apply for a F/O position.
Here they are:
- 737 rated and 500 on type – I’m an A320 F/O and about 1500 on type and 4000TT.
- JAA licence – I have a Brazilian ICAO ATPL.
- Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU – Nop… I don’t have it once I’m Brazilian. By the way, I’m 29 and married if that helps.
I know this may look silly but I want so bad to work on Ryanair and there just got to be a way around all those requirements… I mean, today I work for the major airline in South America, it offers a great perspective in the near future, in a couple of months, hopefully, I should be upgraded to the A330, 777 or 767… then should take around 2 year to get a possible offer for the LHS on the A320… These are basically my expectations, not sure if it will actually happen.
But as I mentioned before I wish to apply for a F/O position on Ryanair, my questions are.
1. Is there in a near future the chance of Ryanair consider non 737 rated pilots on their screening process? If not what should I do, apply for an airline which has 73s on their fleet?
2. How do I get the JAA conversion? Any tips on that?
3. Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU… now that should be a problem.. I don’t see how.
I appreciate any help I can get here.
Thanks a lot!
