Well Funderblaster I can tell you that at the mighty Spottyemm FOs do not taxi and are advised to sit on the runway and await a tug in the event of Capt incap (even on the FBW fleet that have a tiller on the RHS)...in fact that very thing happened at Athens a couple of years ago.
FOs are however encouraged to push plenty of buttons etc!
